The Genius of Simplot
With more than 100,000 acres of potatoes and over 200 growers entitled to Simplot, they have become the leader of the frozen french fry industry with about a 25% share of the U.S. market.
In the 1940s Simplot scientists were the first to successfully make and produce the frozen french fry. Idaho, Washington and Canada are supreme examples of "potato processing exellence" by producing most of the 3 billion pounds of frozen french fry products marketed around the world.
